Tip to the disposal of old batteries

The following tip is directed at those which use batteries or products with built-in batteries and in which to them do not resell delivered form any more (final user):

1. Free taking back of old batteries (Germany)

Batteries may not be decontaminated about the domestic waste. They are obliged to the return of old batteries legally, so that an expert disposal can be guaranteed. They can deliver old batteries at a municipal collective place or in trade on site. Also we are obliged as a distributor by batteries to the taking back of old batteries and our taking back obligation limits itself to old batteries of the kind which we lead as new batteries in our assortment or have led. You can send back old batteries of precalled kind, hence, either enough franked to us, or deliver them directly in our dispatch camp at the following address free of charge:

Untere Aktienstraße 7
09111 Chemnitz · Germany

2. Meaning of the battery symbols

Batteries are with the symbol of a crossed garbage tonne (see. and) marked. This symbol points out to the fact that batteries may not be given in the domestic waste. With the batteries which contain more than 0.0005 mass percent of mercury, more than 0,002 mass percent of cadmium or more than 0,004 mass percent of lead the chemical name of the pollutant used in each case is under the garbage tonne symbol - besides, "CD" stands for cadmium, "Pb" stands for lead, and "Hg" for mercury.
